Back from the Dead

I knew it had been a long time since my last posting but crikey November?? A lot has happened since then. Christmas was just a blur for me, loads of DJing work came in at last minute which allowed me to earn some money and the stations that I freelance(d) for had loads of stuff going on so I was able to get involved in some fun on air stuff.

The Global Radio recruitment ban was also lifted which meant that a few vacancies were advertised, particularly at the stations that are going to see a merge into the Heart brand. I was fortunate to get one of these positions which means that I have moved home and settled into my first full time radio gig. The worries of not getting paid when you fall ill have been removed from my life (for now) but so has the flexibility of having a day off when you feel like it. Which gives me an idea for a future post; Freelance Vs Staff.

Anyway starting this new job is great news, not only for me but hopefully for the blog. I’m learning loads and I hope that I can continue to write out what I learn as I go on in my career. I’m reading Gordon Ramsay’s Humble Pie at the moment which is a great read. It’s encouraging to hear that through many years of hard work, continuous self improvement it is possible to reach and exceed your goal. How that man kept joining new kitchens starting from the bottom every time to become the pro he is now is amazing and motivational to read, I highly suggest you get a copy of this book.

Since my last post I’ve received a few emails from readers of this blog, which is great! A few have been asking some good questions about how they can reach their career ambitions. I am working towards answering their questions and might post their questions on here incase you have the answer or some tips.
