Things looking up?

Looking to gain work experience? Global Radio have launched The Global Academy offering work experience and internships. For more information visit: http://www.thisisglobal.com/radio/global-academy/

However if anything like the BBC application process you may not always get the response you hoped for so don't forget about contacting stations directly. A member of staff at a local BBC radio station once told me that often applications sent via the website are not always the best route. Instead he advised to find a producer or presenter who probably doesn't get regular requests for work experience (maybe the late night presenter) and ask if you can give them a hand. But remember that it's not their job to give you work experience and they're very busy people so be very appreciative of any response you receive.
